Version 2.6.1 (17 October 2026)
- Fixed: feed name links on the dashboard and the WP Dashboard widget opening the wrong tab or feed.

- Fixed: form fields not checked in the feed being left blank in sheet columns named after them (only Entry ID and mapped tags such as [_date] were written since 2.6.0). Columns the entry has no value for are still left untouched.
- Fixed: new rows being inserted in the middle of the sheet when it had a blank row; new rows are added after the last row with data again, as before 2.6.0.
- Fixed: "Send to Spreadsheet" reporting the whole send as failed when only one of the form's sheets failed; the message now names the sheet(s) that failed.
- Fixed: Google API errors in the Error Log showing only the HTTP status: they now include Google's message and the spreadsheet ID, and with a Service Account a hint to share the spreadsheet with its email.
- Fixed: the Error Log hiding different errors that occurred within 30 minutes of each other (and for longer on sites ahead of UTC); only exact repeats are now skipped.
- Fixed: "Google_Token_Refresh_Failed_Manual" errors logged on the plugin's admin pages while another authentication method is active.
- Improved: admin page load by caching the connected Google account email for 10 minutes.

- Updated the CF7 database table structure.
- Updated license activation and deactivation to identify the product by name, matching the license status check.
- Updated Free plugin deactivation on multisite installations to match Pro activation behavior: network-wide deactivation occurs only when Pro is network-activated; otherwise, deactivation is limited to the current site.
- Improved managed Google API credential retrieval with timeouts, HTTP status validation, retries, concurrent-request locking, and change detection. Updated credentials take effect on the next reconnection.
- Improved credential security by encrypting stored Google tokens, service account JSON, and client secrets at rest using AES-256-GCM. Credentials saved by older versions are encrypted automatically after the update.
- Improved credential handling by disabling autoloading on frontend requests and fetching credentials only once per network on multisite installations.
- Improved OAuth error logging with Google error codes and a non-reversible client fingerprint, without logging credentials or tokens.
- Improved license validation by running checks in the background with retries, using cached status during page loads, and recovering missed checks without unnecessary remote requests.
- Improved license security by removing license keys and server responses from debug logs and restricting manual license refresh to administrators.
- Reduced Google user-info API requests on admin pages to one per page load.
- Reduced Google Sheets API calls per form submission from up to 16 to 3 by reading and writing the row once and combining date/time formats, sorting, and header/row formatting into a single request. Bulk "Send to Spreadsheet" and "Sync Existing Entries" operations now use the same number of API calls regardless of the number of rows, writing all updated rows in a single request. Use the `gscf7_pro_batched_sheet_writes` filter to disable batching and restore the previous behavior.
- Updated alternate row colors when feed settings are saved, once per feed after this update, instead of on every submission. Google's existing banding automatically covers new rows.
- Improved date-column sorting so that the latest entry appears first among entries from the same day. Ties are resolved using the `[ _time ]`, Entry ID, or `[ _serial_number ]` column when available.
- Fixed Google Sheets menu visibility issue with Contact Form 7 6.2 and later, while maintaining backward compatibility with older versions.
- Fixed simultaneous submissions overwriting each other's Google Sheets rows by using `values:append` and retrieving the Entry ID from the saved entry's insert ID instead of `MAX(id)`.
- Fixed failed sheet writes from changing another entry's cells. Failures are now logged with the form, feed, and Entry ID.
- Fixed "Send to Spreadsheet" in the database section reporting success when a single or bulk write failed.
- Fixed duplicate rows when resending entries and an extra Entry ID column appearing on sheets created by the Free plugin. The `entry_id` header is now recognized.
- Fixed numeric values for number, range, calculated, acceptance, and numeric quiz fields, as well as `[ _serial_number ]`, `[ _post_id ]`, and `[ _invalid_fields ]`, being sent with a leading apostrophe instead of as real numbers.
- Fixed telephone numbers starting with `+` or `=` being prefixed with an apostrophe.
- Fixed date fields (`dd-mm-yyyy`) and `[ _date ]` / `[ _time ]` values being sent as real dates and times in the WordPress format, including lowercase and uppercase AM/PM.
- Fixed dates being written one day early in time zones behind UTC.
- Fixed sorting placing new entries below older ones. On the first sort, existing text dates, times, and numbers in the sort column are converted to real values.
- Fixed sorting when the Sort Column was specified using a mail-tag name (e.g., `datetime`) or different letter casing from the sheet header. Also fixed alphabetical sorting of custom mail-tag columns, including `[ _datetime ]` and tags added through the `gscf7_special_mail_tags` filter, by converting their values to real dates, times, or numbers before sorting.
- Fixed custom mail-tag values registered through the `gscf7_special_mail_tags` filter from being omitted during resend, bulk "Send to Spreadsheet", and "Sync Existing Entries" operations. Also fixed tags registered without a leading underscore from not receiving values.
- Fixed header and row formatting not being applied when sorting was enabled but the Sort Column was empty.
- Fixed file upload links losing their hyperlinks after each submission. Row-style resets no longer clear cell links.
- Fixed disabling or replacing a field from deleting its Google Sheets column and data. Columns are now retained and restored when mapped again, using header names to move or insert columns.
- Fixed existing sheet data becoming misaligned when a field was added in the middle of the list or dragged to a new position.
- Fixed comma-decimal values (e.g., `77,5`) in numeric fields being written as text.
- Fixed old header text remaining beyond the last column after columns were removed. The header row is now cleared before being rewritten.
- Fixed Google API timeouts (cURL error 28) on slow hosts by increasing the request timeout from 5 to 20 seconds.
- Fixed saving a CF7 form without the "Google Sheet Pro" panel loaded (e.g., for restricted roles, REST API requests, or other plugins) from clearing the feed's sheet connection, field mappings, and header row.
- Fixed Google connections prompting users to reconnect after updates when managed API credentials changed, including direct upgrades from older versions. Earlier credentials are retained for the tokens they issued.
- Fixed Google synchronization stopping when managed credentials became invalid. Credentials are now refreshed and authentication is retried.
- Fixed failed or rejected OAuth authorizations being treated as successful, stored as access tokens, and displayed as connected.
- Fixed Manual authentication storing the authorization code as a token, reporting success after a failed exchange, omitting failed refreshes from logs, and continuing to display the account after disconnection.
- Fixed Google connection status inconsistencies between the Form Editor and the Integration page.
- Fixed license handling issues involving DD/MM/YYYY and DD-MM-YYYY expiry dates not being parsed, expired licenses being treated as valid when expiry dates were invalid, and license keys being cleared after failed activation or non-active responses. License keys are now removed only during deactivation.
- Fixed a multisite issue where opening a subsite without Contact Form 7 deactivated the network-activated plugin across all sites. A notice is now displayed instead.
- Fixed multisite credential and setup issues, including credentials saved before network activation being ignored, new sites missing default settings, network deactivation failing to clear license checks, and "Duplicate foreign key constraint name" errors during table creation.
- Fixed missing foreign keys in subsite feed tables on multisite installations. These are repaired on the first admin page load after the update.
- Fixed subsite entries not being saved to the CF7 Database after upgrading from version 2.5.2 or earlier. The entries table is now created separately for each site.
- Fixed plugin tables remaining after a subsite was deleted on multisite installations.
- Fixed "Delete Plugin Data on Uninstall" leaving feed and entries tables behind.
- Fixed conditional rules failing to save after the 2.5 duplicate-row repair because the rules table referenced a leftover table copy.
- Fixed license checks repeating on every cron run when the license server was unreachable, causing "Cron unschedule event error for hook: gscf7_license_check_retry" messages in the debug log. Failed checks are now logged with the reason.
- Fixed the Dashboard feed list request running on every plugin tab and failing with a 403 error.
- Fixed "Copy System Info" omitting values from rows containing more than two columns.
- Fixed invalid service account JSON keys being saved as authenticated. The plugin now displays "Your uploaded JSON key is Invalid".
