General Setting

The GSheetConnector for WP Core Plugin allows WordPress users to sync their Posts, Pages, Users, and Comments directly to Google Sheets. The General Settings section provides customization for sheet headers, row formatting, and colors, ensuring your data is easy to read and well-organized. This guide explains each setting in detail.

1. Accessing General Settings

  1. Navigate to GSheetConnector For WP Core → Settings → WP Core Settings → General.
  2. Here, you will find all options to customize your sheet appearance and formatting.

2. General Settings Overview

The General Settings panel allows you to:

  • Embed Google Services into your WordPress site.
  • Customize sheet headers and row fonts.
  • Adjust background colors for headers, odd and even rows.
  • Optimize your data sheets for readability and professional presentation.

Tip: Always click Save after making changes to ensure your settings are applied to your synced sheets.

3. Header Management

The header row in your Google Sheets can be fully customized for font style, size, and color.

a. Freeze Header Row

  • Toggle ON to keep your header row visible while scrolling through large sheets.
  • Recommended for better readability when syncing large WordPress data like posts and comments.

b. Header Font Settings

  • Font Size: Set the size of your header text (default: 12px).
  • Font Style: Choose between Normal, Bold, or Italic.
  • Font Color: Select a color that contrasts well with your background for visibility.

4. Row Font Settings

Customize the appearance of your data rows to match your website or brand style:

  • Font Size: Default is 12px, adjust according to your sheet readability.
  • Font Style: Choose Normal, Bold, or Italic to highlight important rows.
  • Font Color: Select text color to differentiate rows clearly.

5. Sheet Background Color

Customize the look of your Google Sheets for improved data distinction:

  • Header Color: Background color for the header row.
  • Odd Row Color: Background color for odd-numbered rows.
  • Even Row Color: Background color for even-numbered rows.

Pro Tip: Use subtle alternating row colors to enhance readability and reduce eye strain.

6. Saving Settings

  1. After customizing all your General Settings, click the green Save button.
  2. Your settings will apply to all future synced sheets.
  3. You can revisit the General Settings anytime to adjust fonts, styles, or colors.
