Integration With Google (Existing Method)

Existing Method Guide

The Existing Method provides the easiest way to connect Elementor Forms Google Sheet Connector with Google Sheets. Using this method, you can authenticate directly with your Google account without creating a Google Cloud Project or manually configuring API credentials.

Before connecting your Google account, make sure you have installed and activated Elementor Forms Google Sheet Connector on your WordPress website. If you haven’t completed the installation yet, follow the Installation Guide before continuing.

Once connected, form submissions from Elementor Forms will automatically be sent to your selected Google Spreadsheet in real time.

How the Existing Method Works

The Existing Method uses Google’s secure authentication process to connect your website with Google Sheets.

  • No Google Cloud Project required.
  • No Client ID configuration required.
  • No Client Secret configuration required.
  • Secure Google authentication.
  • Quick setup process.
  • Beginner-friendly configuration.
Recommended: The Existing Method is recommended for most users because it requires minimal setup and automatically handles the Google authentication process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I see the error: The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

This error usually occurs because of a problem with your Google authentication or Google API configuration.
To resolve this issue:

  1. Go to the Google API Settings page.
  2. Revoke the existing Google authentication token.
  3. Reconnect your Google account.
  4. Make sure the Google Drive API and Google Sheets API are enabled in your Google Cloud Project.
  5. Check your WordPress admin email inbox for detailed error information.

After resolving the authentication issue, continue with the Feed Settings Guide to complete your Google Sheets integration.

What should I do if the Google Sheets API limit has been reached?

Google applies API usage quotas to prevent excessive requests. If your website exceeds the allowed quota, data synchronization may temporarily stop.

To resolve this issue, review your Google Cloud API usage and quota settings. If necessary, wait for the quota to reset or request a higher quota through Google Cloud Console.

For more information, visit: Google Sheets API Usage Limits.

What should I do if I see the message: 'This app isn't verified'?

When using your own Google Cloud Project, Google may display a warning stating that the application is not verified. This is expected and does not necessarily indicate a security issue.

To continue:

  1. Click Advanced.
  2. Click Go to your application (unsafe) or Proceed, depending on the message shown.
  3. Complete the Google authentication process.

What should I do if I receive a 403 error during Google authentication?

A 403 error usually means that Google denied the authentication request.

Common causes include:

  • Required Google permissions were not granted.
  • The OAuth Consent Screen is not configured correctly.
  • Your Google Cloud Project is still in testing mode.
  • Your Google account is not added as a test user.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Grant all requested Google permissions.
  2. Verify your OAuth Consent Screen configuration.
  3. Add your Google account as a test user or publish the application.
  4. Reconnect your Google account and try again.

Once authentication is successful, continue with the Plugin Settings Guide before creating your first feed.

How do I fix the error: 'Range exceeds grid limits'?

You may encounter an error similar to:

Range ('Completed Orders'!A2302) exceeds grid limits. Max rows: 2301, max columns: 45.

This means your Google Sheet has reached its current row limit.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Open the affected Google Spreadsheet.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the worksheet.
  3. Add additional rows.
  4. We recommend adding at least 2,000 new rows.
  5. Save the spreadsheet and submit your form again.

If the issue continues after increasing the worksheet size, review your Feed Settings to confirm the correct spreadsheet and worksheet are selected.
